Helen Marie Casey Brings Florence Hosmer’s Art to Life

Helen Marie Casey’s gorgeous biography of Florence Hosmer, My Dear Girl:  The Art of Florence Hosmer, gets a rave review in the Milford Daily News: “As if composing a poem, Helen Marie Casey has infused her biography of artist Florence Hosmer with a lyricism that evokes the Sudbury painter’s life and art for a new generation…As a writer, Casey paints Hosmer’s life much as she painted her portraits, subtle detail by quiet observation, transforming a patchwork of everyday moments into the flesh-and-blood life of [Hosmer].”

Casey recently read from her book at the Hosmer House in Sudbury, which is featured in the biography and is a lovely Massachusetts landmark. On view are many of Hosmer’s paintings (some of which are reproduced in full color in My Dear Girl). Click  here to buy a copy of this beautiful book.
